What are they?
An Ad Set Group is the folder where you set rules for bidding, budgeting and pausing Ad Sets. Ad Set Groups only live in AdRules and they can't be seen by Facebook. Your Ad Set group may contain 1 or 1000s of Ad Sets from from different Facebook campaigns. You can apply one budget to manage the Ad Sets Group. One stipulation, all Ad Sets in an Ad Set Group must be the Bid Type and Campaign Objective (Billing Event and Optimization Goal). In addition to budgets, you can apply bid and pause rules to all Ad Sets contained within the Ad Set Group.
Adding Ad Sets to an Ad Set group
Method 1: Locate Ad Sets from either the "Reporting" view or "All Ad Sets" and assign an Ad Set Group to them. This is done by clicking on the select box next to the Ad Set, then click on the blue Action button and select Assign Ad Set Group.
Method 2: Launch new Ad Sets into a pre-selected Ad Set Group using Ad Builder. This will be covered in more detail in the Ad Builder section.
Method 3: Use Ad Set Group Move rules to move Ad Sets into a different Ad Set Group after they meet certain rules you have defined. You will find the move feature under the Settings Tab when editing an Ad Set Group.
This can be helpful to move successful Ad Sets from a starter group to a scale-out group, or to move dead ones to a another group with zero budget.
